A TRIBUTE TO PRINCE

He was an unwanted horse that was kept in this tiny paddock. Besides this he was overweight and very quiet, although he was weary to the man who owned him.

Melissa's sister rode him and said that it would be a bad idea to buy him and that he would be nothing but trouble. But Melissa felt sorry for him and bought him of the man.

When Melissa got him to his new paddock she named him "Prince Charming" although it turned out he wasn't that charming at all. Everyone tried riding him will no luck. The vet came out to check him, and found traces of drugs in his system. Eventually Prince learnt to trust Melissa but not the saddle (Melissa had to learn to ride bare back again).

A few years later they moved to Melbourne. Prince loved his new paddock and paddock mates. I then fell pregnant and was told I wasn't able to ride. This made Melissa upset, however she still went to see him give him a carrot or apple and a hug and he would give her a nudge back.

Then the horrible day came my due date. I went out that day had lunch at the pub with family and went shopping. I got home to find my partner walking down the paddock, pulling shopping out of the car I asked him if he had seen my fat boy today, his reply was a pale face telling me my horse Prince had died.

I dropped my shopping and ran for the paddock I ran up the hill with my partner close behind me telling me he was sorry. I cried and screamed all the way up that paddock falling down rabbit holes and so on. I finally made it to see my boy.

I got down on my knees and cried I held his head and just repeated, "Why did you take my horse". My partner got me back to my feet and took me back to the house. I sat at the dinning table and cried for about an hour.

I had a shower to calm myself down and lay on my bed for the rest of the night. Until I went into labour.

A friend of ours came over to the paddocks to bury my baby boy and put a large rock on his grave so we could mark it.

I was glad my son was born when he was, it made me feel better. The next morning when I woke up I went outside and asked Prince to take care of my son, and I tried to say goodbye.

But even 7 months later I cry over him he was the meanest but greatest horse I have ever owned.

This is my tribute to my baby
PRINCE CHARMING.
